No new case in Bhayandar West; active cases in Mira Bhayandar drop below 370

Mira Bhayandar on Monday recorded a drop in coronavirus cases with only 10 persons testing positive for the virus. The twin-city has recorded the lowest daily rise in new COVID-19 cases in nearly the last six months.

While Mira Road and Bhayandar East reported seven and three new cases respectively, Bhayandar West reported no fresh cases for the first time since the outbreak of coronavirus.

The number of active cases in the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) area now stands at 365.

Also, no new death case was reported in the last 24 hours in Mira Bhayandar.

With the inclusion of the 10 new positive cases, the cumulative number of cases in the area has gone up to 26,014, while 24,856 infected persons have recovered.

For the past few weeks, the region has been reporting more recoveries than positive cases. On Monday, a batch of 53 persons was discharged from hospitals and COVID Care Centres after recovery.

According to the daily COVID-19 update shared by the MBMC, out of the fresh cases reported on Monday, seven were new patients while the other three were contacts of people who had tested positive earlier.

On Saturday, 268 out of the 300 listed beneficiaries were vaccinated. The immunisation drive was conducted at three healthcare establishments in Mira Bhayandar.

Around 6,300 medicos and frontline workers from 21 public and 671 private healthcare establishments will receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the first phase.
