Coronavirus: Beware of this Omicron symptom reported in kids under 5

As far as the new coronavirus variant, Omicron, is concerned, a recent report suggests that it may lead to a harsh, barking cough called croup in kids under the age of 5.

According to doctors, children who contract the Omicron may develop infection in the upper respiratory tract, leading to croup.

That said, croup is a condition that reflects an upper airway infection, which not only blocks breathing but also triggers a distinctive barking sound. Usually, it may be accompanied with fever, hoarseness and laboured or noisy breathing.
