Four things spotted in England training
With Euro 2020’s opening fixtures fast approaching, England are ramping up their training ahead of their first Group D clash with Croatia.
And with their Manchester United and Manchester City contingent all now fully integrated in the squad, Gareth Southgate is no longer limited by fitness issues that restricted his selections for their two warm-up friendlies. Now, it’s up to players like Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling, John Stones and Marcus Rashford to prove they are ready to start against Croatia.
They will face competition in a strong squad, and there is also an added background to the preparations as a number of players are subject to transfer rumours. Harry Kane and Jack Grealish are being linked with City, while Jadon Sancho is on United’s radar.
So while players are quick to play down any speculation, fans will be looking closely for any hints they can get while United and City players are brushing shoulders in the England camp.
As cameras were allowed into the opening section of England training on Wednesday – here is what we spotted.
